Surf Sculpts
This mini project was inspired by my love of the ocean and surfing. In particular, I've tried to convey (in a small way) the effortless sense of movement and flow that certain surfers possess. I wanted to focus on the shapes and poses of the "surfer" as much as possible, so I kept the wave shapes fairly simple and geometric.
The above versions used resin sculptures and pop art toys as an inspiration for the look, but I also experimented with more of a fine art/sculpture style as well.
Below are a few additional concepts and early tests.
